My Prezi

Hello!  My Prezi is for parents/guardians and other teachers of preschool age children.  My intent is to provide information about some of the methods I use in the classroom, as well as my philosophy.  I've included articles and videos to use to help families or other teachers have a better understanding of who I am as a teacher.

I thought that working with Prezi was pretty easy.  I had fun experimenting with different ways of using it.  I thought that the edit path was slightly confusing because it looked like every frame was out of order.  I figured it out and put together my first Prezi!

I chose this blog because it is actually my son's teacher's blog.  I check it everyday to get updates, look at the calendar so that I know when my son has assignments due and to contact the teachers if need be.  His teacher's work so hard that I wanted to give them a shout for having a great teacher blog.

I chose this blog because it is for Early Childhood Educators and is based on a philosophy I find very interesting.  I like how it includes links to other sites that explore activities and lessons, plus tips for teachers.

This blog is for Early Childhood Educators who love literacy.  I think language development is so important and I love sharing books with children.  This is a very informative resource for incorporating different books for children in the classroom.

Welcome to my Blog!

Hello!  My name is Carrie Bayles.  Welcome to my first post!  I am earning my Associates degree in Early Childhood Development and Education.  I believe that I only have 2 semesters left before I graduate, which is great as it's been a very slow process!  I am a single mother, my son is 12 years old and in 7th grade.  He keeps me very busy and brings laughter and love to my life everyday.  Some of my interests are vegan cooking, exercising, and going to see live music.  I have been vegetarian for 31 years, and am more recently eating a vegan diet.  I love animals and am a picky eater, so it's just a natural lifestyle for me.  I ride my bike when it's warm out and enjoy doing pilates to stay in shape.  When I go out, I usually go to local bars where live music is playing.  Columbus has always been great for supporting local music and I love being able to be a part of it.

My goals as an educator are to keep learning fun, explore new ideas, and to learn from the children that I work with.  I'm just starting out as a teacher and I find young children to be so interesting.  I hope that I can bring a love of learning and to enrich the lives of the children in my care.  I want to build strong relationships with families and involve them as much as possible in their children's learning. Early education is all about play and fun.  The experiences should be planned in a way that prepares them for elementary school, while keeping in mind their interests and ideas.  I want to be able to provide high quality education to all the children I work with!
